Capturing an iconic moment on camera

01 — Background

The London Irish Centre is the cultural home of Irish Londoners. In 2022, the Mayor of the City of London recognised the importance of this institution by awarding several key members the Freedom of the City of London.

The recipients? Gary Dunne, Maeve Heath, and Ed Sheeran.

02 — My role in this project

This was a special day in the London Irish Centre's history - so Creative Director, Gary Dunne, asked us to come along and make sure it was captured in all its glory.

Ahead of filming, I defined the LIC's narrative for the day, including developing key messaging and quotes on behalf of each recipient.

Together with teammates from Eulogy and DH&CO, I went to Mansion House to help interview recipients to find out just how much the honour meant to them.

But the cherry on the cake was being fortunate enough to chat with global superstar, Ed Sheeran. We sat down to explore his Irish heritage, talk about the Irish influences on his music, and hear firsthand why being awarded the Freedom of the City of London meant so much to him.
